Nasu-Mifuji Kindergarten, founded in 1975 and embedded in the beautiful nature of Nasu region, was the first Japanese Waldorf/Steiner Kindergarten in Japan.
Now, through the process of interactions with the children, parents, local culture and government, it has developed into a new type of “Waldorf-inspired” Kindergarten with its own “Mifuji Method” with elements both from West and East such as traditional Japanese Dance, seasonal festivals, circle games and plays, centred around children’s free play.
